Re: Code of Ethics of Accounting Educators

Dear Kazuo Hiramatsu:

I am writing to ask your assistance with an assessment of ethics of accounting educators. The survey takes 20 minutes for completion. Your full participation through the end of the survey is very much appreciated.

Please consider forwarding this request to other accounting faculty members and ask them to consider responding.

Survey: The Code of Ethics of Accounting
Educators<http://www.esurveyspro.com/Survey.aspx?id=1c39bd65-16c7-4ac8-b256-2acb25370252>

In 2002, the IAAER published a Global Code of Ethics for Accounting Educators. This code was the work of a special IAAER task force chaired by Norlin Rueschhoff of the University of Notre Dame. The Executive Committee approved the code and it was presented to the membership at the IAAER World Congress of Accounting Educators in Hong Kong in 2002 and now appears on the IAAER website. An executive summary of the code appeared in the September 2008 edition of Accounting Education: an international journal.

The survey’s objective is to obtain the opinions of current accounting educators globally, and to develop
benchmarks of accounting education ethics in advance of the IAAER World Congress in Singapore in November 2010.

The survey consists of the following three sections:
1. Overview: Contains general questions regarding ethics in accounting education.
2. Framework for Globally Recognized Standards: Asks members for their opinions on the 32 ethics guidelines
contained in the code.
3. Demographic Information: No answers are associated with individual identifying information.

The survey takes about than 20 minutes to complete and remains open until October 1, 2010. Questions about the survey or about my work on ethics in general, can be directed to me at the contact details below.

Thank you in advance for your participation.

Sincerely,

Belverd E. Needles Jr.
